Tech - Manifold Learning (We grabbed 15 of the more popular single- and dual-plane intake manifolds - plus a vintage Chevy piece - and dyno-tested each one on our 383 small-block made at Westech Performance); Performer! (It's finally here. We purchased a complete '73 Camaro and we're showcasing the direction we're looking to go with it. In the meantime, we tossed the old rollers in exchange for 15-inch Rallys with all-new rubber and enhanced the ergonomics with new seats and a fresh-looking steering wheel); Spark It Up (We'll show you how to upgrade your HEI Ignition with an MSD unit); All Racked Up (Our project '66 El Camino was in dire need of modern upgrades. We spent the day at our tech center and swapped out the old manual steering box, shaft, and the rods in favor of a complete Unisteer power rack-and-pinion kit); Fire Starter! (We put together six of the most common ignition boxes out there for under $250 and listed prices, features, and even required volts for each one) Features - Stuka In A Camaro Suit (It's a runner and a little rain didn't slow down this killer '68 Camaro. More importantly, we got the juicy scoop and you'll read about the Velocity Camaro here first) Departments - Shop Talk (Editor H gives his perspective as a passenger); Performance Q & A (Our resident tech guru, Big Mac, tells all); Step By Step (Our '72 Nova is under the knife again for suspension upgrades for its new 350 small-block swap. Inside we install four new Bilstein shocks, including the rear sway bar with all-new hardware and bushings); Insider (We talk with Kevin King of Year One and get the lowdown on aftermarket parts for the musclecar industry and the latest trends); Parts Rack (Trick combination radiator and core support for first-gen Camaros); Rides (Barry Dooley from Bellflower, California, bangs a Tremec five-speed in his 327ci-powered '64 Nova); Garage (Letters, news, and everything else we couldn't fit anywhere else); What's Next (Dtories to expect in the upcoming issue)

Special Feature - Readers' Rides Goes Wide (With so much reader feedback from last year's Local Heroes Special, we've decided to bring it back for the second time, only this year, we've made it even better, showcasing 31 of the hottest rides submitted) Tech - Domestic Exotica (In an effort to unlock the secrets of GM's latest LS9, we take a first-hand look into the innards of this new beast, build one ourselves, and get the skinny from GM engineers); Short Stoppin' Z (We swap out the factory brakes with new gear from Power Slot, Hawk and Classic Tube and follow it up with braking distance numbers); The 500HP Question (It may be small, but it's no slouch. This high-compression AFR-headed 327ci small-block uses a factory-cast block to achieve a staggering 553 hp in naturally aspirated form); A Monster Is Born (We follow along as Westech Performance's Steve Brule builds a pump gas 496ci big-block to the tune of 780 hp) Features - Ray's Blue Pill (Ray Thompson's Camaro is all business when it comes to corner carving and he has the mill to back it up with his 420hp 383 small-block) Departments - Shop Talk (It doesn't matter where you go: Chevys are everywhere); Performance Q & A (Our resident tech guru, Big Mac, tells all); Step By Step (We show you how to install a Currie 9-inch rearend into your A-body); Insider (Jim Ries of Classic Performance Products shares his expertise on suspension, brakes, and steering components for any street machine); Parts Rack (If you're looking to convert your carbureted mill to EFI, check out Edelbrock's latest fuel-injected inlet elbows); Garage (Letters, news, and anything else we couldn't fit anywhere else); What's Next (Stories to expect in the upcoming issue)

Contents - LS Resurrection (Forget the standard-fair LS builds. We show up at Turn Key Engine Supply, where they construct a pumped-up 383 stroker LS1 with 10.3:1 compression. They add all the good stuff, including Lunati internals, a Comp stick, and a set of AFR cylinder heads); Thumper (Taking of Trick Flow's latest bad-boy 235cc heads, we complete a top-end rebuild on our 402ci LS2. We go through the build and swap the hydraulic roller cam with two solid roller grinds, and it's back on the dyno in search of our lofty 600hp goal on motor alone. Oh yeah, and for added bragging rights, we top it off with a 200 shot of nitrous); Cheapskate (SAM (School of Automotivr Machinists) has built a serious low-buck small-block, producing a respectable 475 hp. We'll show you how they did it so you can build one for yourself) Special Feature - Just Say Columbus (The Mecca of all things automotive has got to be the Goodyear show in Columbus, Ohio. Every year, many convergr on this very spot, and we were there to join in on the fun) Features - Generational Pairity (Who said second- and third-gen Camaros weren't any fun? We proved them wrong when we found two prime examples of what's being done in the real world. Both these street machines sport LS1 powerplants and late-model transmissions); Red Hot! (Sporting a Vortech blown 502 big-block, this red street sled is no chump. It produces serious muscle and features massive rollers with a killer stance to boot) Departments - Shop Talk (Editor H talks Gen III power); Performance Q & A (Our resident tech guru, Big Mac, tells all); Step By Step (Years of foot teaffic had converted the original rug in our '73 Camaro into a ragged mess. We took a day to strip the cockpit down to the metal, cleaned and prepped it for Dynamal, and added fresh threads with new tires); Insider (Centerforce frontman Will Baty takes the time to discuss clutch therory and explains what to look for when purchasing one for your particular application); Parts (Comp Cams now offers a complete hit featuring a Thumpr camshaft of your choice with a geardrive and matchng lifters); Garage (Letters, news. and everything else we couldn't fit anywhere else); What's Next (Stories to expect in the upcoming issue)
