There is a four-panel cartoon that shows two ladies sitting and eating lunch. The first ladycompliments the food and the other mentions that it must be a terrible job to make mayonnaise. In the second frame a third figure enters the script. The maid brings the container of mayonnaise and the first lady says that "It's fresher even than homemade". Hellmans 3

Full color 9 1/2" x 13 3/4" ad that is for Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise. This ad starts off with a man standing there with his left hand to his ear, trying to hear what is being said as the ad is saying "Page Your Man With This He-Man 'Chef Salad' with Real Mayonnaise". It then shows a table that has been set with a Chef's Salad, one with a variety of different things, and, next to it, there is a Chef's Salad recipe along with an Appetizer Mayonnaise recipe. Then, this ad has a three-frame cartoon that is entitled a "Confirmed Salad-Hater Gets A Salad He Likes". In the first frame, it shows a man eating dinner with two ladies. The man says "Sa-ay! I could eat salad like this every day in the week. It's not just 'rabbit's food' - and the dressing tastes RICH". The lady who they are eating at s house says, "Don't say 'dressing,' sir - that's made with REAL Mayonnaise". In the second picture, the two ladies are talking and the one asks "What do you mean, Mary? What's the difference between 'salad dressing' and REAL Mayonnaise?". Mary, the lady who responded in the first frame, answers "REAL Mayonnaise has No Starchy Filler in it! It's ALL mayonnaise, like home-made, so it doesn't turn watery when you thin it for a tossed salad like this". The third picture shows two men talking on the train, the one man says "Here's another article says you should eat salads every day. Wished I liked 'em". The other man, the man in the first frame who was complimenting the lady on her salads, says "I used to hate 'em, too, but since my wife got hep to REAL Mayonnaise - boy, our salads taste swell".

Hellmann's 6

Full color 9 1/2" x 13 1/2" ad that is for Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise. At the top of the ad there is a lady preparing for the Bridge Club and the headline says there is "Something New for the Bridge Club! Treasure-Basket Salad with Real Mayonnaise". Next we see a basket of, something very unique, and the ad text says that "The Mayonnaise Gives Glamour To This Simple Salad. Here's a smart new note - nut meats in the mayonnaise. Delicious! But don't play up your mayonnaise this way unless its flavor is worthy. With Best Foods (in the West) and Hellmann's (in the East) you are safe, because - It's Real Mayonnaise - the home kind, made with only freshly broken eggs, added egg yolks, choice salad oil, vinegar and seasoning. It's Really Fresh - it is made with our own FRESH PRESS Salad Oil, which we ourselves prepare fresh each day, as it is needed. That is why this Real Mayonnaise, rich as home-made, has such delightful, zestful flavor". Below this there is a three-frame cartoon entitled "Fern Wins A New Salad Future With Her Lucky First Prize!". In the first picture, there are two women sharing the table with Fern and they are congratulating her for winning. The first one says, "Orchids to you, Kay, for a salad that can be served without spilling". Fern says "And for this heavenly salad dressing! It's too delicious". The lady in charge says that "I'm glad you like it, Fern, because you've won a jar of it for first prize, but it isn't "salad dressing", you know. It's Real Mayonnaise". In the second picture, Fern is asking, "What's the difference between "salad dressing" and "Real Mayonnaise", Kay?". Kay responds, "A big difference, Fern. Real Mayonnaise is ALL Mayonnaise - no starchy filler in it! That's why it has so much rich, Real Flavor. And it doesn't turn watery when you add milk or fruit juices". In the third and last picture, Fern is standing there proudly, saying "Well, this first prize will start a brighter future in salads at our house, Kay. And may I have the recipe for your lovely salad?". Kay answers, "Here it is! It's a cinch to make" and it is here in the ad.
