Three color 9 1/2" x 13 1/2" ad for their Driv-Ur-Self System. There are two pictures of people standing next to cars they have rented from Hertz, one a man who got his for Business and the other a man with his family who got his for pleasure. The headline asks you to "Check all these Advantages you'll enjoy at home or away when you Rent a New Car from Hertz and Drive it yourself". It talks about being Convenient wherever you are, giving you Private Car Pleasure, being As easy to rent as A, B, C..., the ability to make Reservations, the existance of Hertz National Courtesy Cards and their Reasonable Rates. The ad gives one example of an average rate and mentions that they rented Trucks too. |

The ad is written as though your favorite Uncle is giving you advice starting with the headline "Here's why we so often Rent A Car from Hertz". There are family snapshots shown of momentous moments and the car rented from Hertz has managed to sneak into tach of them. There is a list of "advantages" to renting from Hertz and the claim is made that "You can Rent a New Car from Hertz as easy as A-B-C". |

Full color 10" x 14" ad for the No. 1 Car Rental Company. There is a picture of an attractive young lady weaing a Hertz cap and uniform and holding up a car key with the hope of enticing you into coming in to rent. The headline says that you can "Drive it as your own! (Get the Hertz idea)" and the text gives you more details. It claims you will be able to drive "a hining, new Powerglide Chevrolet Bel Air or other fine car" and the picture at the bottom of the page shows a man driving a Plum and White 1957 Chevrolet 4-Door down a residential street past a slow-walking postal carrier. The text talks about how simple it is to rent a car from Hertz at the average price of $8.00 per day, with an 8 cent per mile charge, and the different ways you can pay for it. This ad is larger than my scanner bed so the outer edges of the ad will not be visible in the scanned view. |
