The items on this page will consist of carpets, rugs, tiles and other methods to cover the floors, and sometimes the walls, of the modern house.

These are just a small portion of the ads that we have for sale. None of these are reproductions, all are original. Most of these are large ads, larger than our scanner bed. Therefore the view shown on the page may not completely show the ad. They are placed in a plastic bag with a cardboard backboard for protection. Please e-mail us with your specific interests.

Bigelow
Full color 10" x 13" ad for their Rugs and Carpets. There is a picture of a fine living room with a very attractive rug in the middle and the headline asks "Can you guess the price of this Bigelow beauty? $120...$250...$500?". The text identifies it as the Chapel Hill style and gives the price as $120. On the side of the page are samples of the Beauvais, the Fontenelle and the Fashiontwist with information and prices for each.

Flooring 4

Deltox
Full color 7 3/4" x 11" ad for their 9' x 12' Rugs that were used to unexpensively redecorate rooms. The ad shows before and after pictures of two rooms that have undergone transformations for under $25. The top room had a hardwood floor that was covered with a Deifield Oxford Grey (Pattern 57-7) and the bottom room also had a hardwood floor covered with a Delvogue Haramony Grey (Pattern 725-77) to make vast difference. The text mentions that these rugs are "reversible for twice the wear" as well as making other standard claims for this product.

Glamorug
Full color 9 1/2" x 14" ad for their Room Size Rugs with the All-Wool Face. There is a picture of two different rugs lying on a hardwood floor and the caption says "Wonder-Buy for $29.95". The text explains they are available in the popular 9' x 12' size and claims that many women are tuying "two or three Glamorugs at a time". It also talks about the wear-testing that these rugs have undergone and how easy it is to take care of them. Glamorug 8

Gulistan
Full color 10" x 13" ad for their Carpets. The ad headline asks the readers is "Your Home dressed for the occasion?" and has samples of three of the carpets available. They show a green Chevron, a red Penhurst and a brown Renaissance, each with descriptions of their construction. This ad is larger than my scanner bed so the outer edges of the ad will not be visible in the scanned view.

Flooring 1

Kentile
Full color 9 1/2" x 13" ad for their Vinyl Flooring. There is a picture of a living room done in their Moda Motesca Solid Vinyl flooring which is described as having "The elegance of Old Spain - now in solid vinyl floor tile". The ad mentions that it comes in five classic tile colors and the picture shows that it can be used on the walls too. This ad is larger than my scanner bed so the outer edges of the ad will not be visible in the scanned view.

Flooring 2

Lee's
Full color 9 1/2" x 13" ad that has a photo of an apartment done in green, green rug, green furniture, green plants and a lady sitting on the floor wearing a green outfit. The headline says this place is "Loomed for lots of living...those heavenly carpets by Lee's". The ad calls this carpet "Bon Bon" and claims that it will be sold for $8.95 a square yard. They claim that it uses the ultra-strong Du Pont 501 Nylon and that the carpet is very long lasting and easy to care for. They claim that it is crush-resistant, mothproof, mildewproof, a combination of 15 different choices.

Magee
Full color 9 1/2" x 13" ad for their Carpets. There is a picture of a room done with the Provence model in Berkshire Green where a little girl is standing at a blackboard and scolding her two dolls who are sitting in rocking chairs about the arithmetic problem she has written on the board. The headline calls it "Simple arithmetic: fashion, style, beauty, quality". The text mentions the other colors it is available in and the widths you could buy. It also claims that "Magee makes a house a home".

Ozite
Full color 10" x 13 1/2" ad for their "Outdoor Carpet in Colorful Patterns!". The photograph shows a woman spreading a turquoise carpet on her outside patio. The ad headline says they are "Only From Ozite!" and the text says that they have "been letting people use their imaginations with original Ozite Indoor-Outdoor Carpet". They have now created their first indoor-outdoor carpet with patterns, it is the new Ozite Fiesta Carpet made with Vectra fiber. They have three actual patterns that come in different colors. It is easy to install just rolling it into place and cutting it to size with a knife or sharp scissors. As far as cleaning, they say that "Vacuums clean indoors, hoses clean outdoors".

Sloane
Full color 5" x 14" ad for their Floor and Wall Tile. The ad has two pictures, one shows a dainty lady finishing up tiling her kitchen with Koroseal Tile Special as the container of adhesive nearby. The next picture shows a childs bedroom done with this tile in green with several white tiles used to put an elephant in the middle of the room. The headline calls this tile the "Easiest of all to install! Grease-proof! Fade-proof! Stain-proof!" and for covering a 6' x 10' floor the ad gives prices of $14.98 for the Special, $37.25 with the DeLuxe, $79.95 for the Supreme and $17.50 for the Texfloor, Terano, Marbletone and Fineline
