Full color 10" x 13" wartime ad has a drawing of a lady looking at a painting of Lydia Darragh, a heroine of the Revolutionary War. The ad headline is "Courage...Your Heritage" and the ad talks about the important part that women are doing to help win the war. The ad text, talking about the Avon representatives says that "Hers is the timely and patriotic mission of leaving with you cosmetics which help give you new and inspiring beauty". The ad headline claims that "She brought brilliance to the Nation's Capital" and the ad mentions other things she helped to do during the time she was First Lady. The ad text, in part, proclaims that "It is Avon's privilege to serve you and every busy American woman with cosmetics that help you achieve this inspiring and gracious loveliness.". Full color 5" x 13" wartime ad talks about the Avon Medallion of Honor which is given to Women of Achievement as decided by a committee consisting of C. Mildred Thompson, Gladys Swarthout and Fannie Hurst. This particular award is going to Lieut. Lois Brownell, U.S.N.R "as a symbol of appreciation of the wonderful achievements of the WAVES". The only reference to cosmetics in this ad is the statement to welcome your Avon representative when she calls. Full color 10" x 13" ad with a Christmas theme. The ad has a green background and features a wreath framed drawing of a 19th Century couple bringing presents to a decorated house as the snow begins to fall. Full color 7 3/4" x 10 3/4" ad for their line of cosmetics, especially Lipsticks, with two photos of Claudette Colbert. The one photo has her sitting with a red jacket in a chair listening intently as the headline has her stating "...and I think Avon Lipsticks are sensational!". The second, smaller photo shows her sitting with Mrs. Nellie Ginthner who is identified as the Avon representative who has called on Claudette. Pictured in the ad are several more of the different products that Avon offered and the text reminds you how nice it is to buy from someone who comes to your house.

There is a portrait of actress Teresa Wright drawn by Claudette Colbert and a photo of Teresa Wright seated comfortably in her home with her Avon Representative, Mrs. Virginia Stevens, trying to decide which of the many quality items to purchase this time. The text has Teresa talking about "hot-weather make-up difficulties" and she claims that "Avon solves the summer make-up problem beautifully!". The text mentions that your Avon Representative is able to help you with a variety of other services and urges you to "Welcome her when she calls!".

We see a picture of this actress sitting in her living room going through the products being offered to her by the Avon Representative, Mrs. Mary Abrams. The caption mentions the new movie that Coleen Gray will be appearing in, Kansas City 117. The text contains quotes my Miss Gray concerning why she choses Avon products and at the bottom of the ad we see several containers of their products.

Loretta I think is sitting on the floor with the red dress she is wearing spread out around her but the dress she has on is so huge that I am really not sure how she is able to walk without an accompinament of at least four people. She is holding a gift set in her hands with several; more items spread out behind her. There are more items in the ad and the headline says that "Choosing gifts is so convenient the Avon way" and Loretta talks about the ease of shopping from the comfort of your own living room. With the hassle of Christmas coming and Avon just a phone call away you are urged to "Welcome her when she calls".

Full color two page ad. The ads measure 5 1/4" x 10" and 8" x 10". The ads are glued to the cardboard with about 1/2" gap between them. The ads say that "Avon's gay 'Cotillion' fragrance has exciting newness" and shows Mrs. Roy Hofheinz, the wife of the Houston mayor, talking with her Avon representative. Displayed on this page are the Cotillion Perfume, Cotillion Cream Sachet, Cotillion Beauty Dust, Cotillion Cologne and the Cotillion Powder Sachet.
