Oldsmobile 88 - Full color 9 1/2" x 13" ad that is "Announcing the new "88", another Futuramic with new Rocket engine!". There is a picture of a very sparsely traveled city highway with a Green Two Door Olds 88 occupied by two ladies closest to the reader. The text introduces this as the "third new Futuramic line for 1949" and talks about the Oldsmobile Rocket engine and features are now in a "lower price range". It mentions more of the features, including the "Hydra-Matic Drive with Whirlaway as standard equipment" before again mentioning "Oldsmobile's revolutionary new high-octane, eight cylinder engine". My, how times have changed. Now the ad for a car will emphasize that it runs on the cheaper, regular gas rather than than a more expensive "High Octane" fuel.

And extra performance from a whole new generation of more powerful, more economical Rocket V-8s. New built-in features. Like hideaway windshield wipers. Side marker lights. Reassuring new General Motors safety items. And all the other new availabilities Olds puts at your disposal. Like a Tilt-and-Telescope Steering Wheel with an "Instant Horn" that honks when you squeeze the wheel". Yes, the Oldsmobiles were getting "up-there" in additions.
