Mercury Comets - Full color 9 1/2" x 12 1/2" ad for America's Newest Compact Car. The ad has a picture that shows a Blue Two-Door Sedan parked on an incline at a Garden Nursery and a White Four Door Station Wagon that is being loaded up with purchases for the yard. The ad headline tells us that "Comet offers two and four-door sedans - two and four-door station wagons" and the ad text talks about the gas mileage and the extras that are standard. Mercury Comet S-22 - Full color 10" x 13" ad intent on showing you "the newest, niftiest interior under the smartest roof in the compact field." In the background of the picture is a White Mercury Comet parked with the driver's door open allowing you to look inside and see the Red Vinyl interior. In the foreground of the picture are the seats, the steering wheel and the dashboard that were to be found in this car. Occupying the passenger side of the front seat is a sunglass-wearing woman who is resting comfortably with her left elbow on the back of the seat. The text goes into more detail about the wealth of items to be found inside every Comet car.

Mercury Comet Caliente - Full color 9 3/4" x 13 1/4" ad that highlights the 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente. This ad shows two views of this particular car in the Turquois shade. At the top of the ad it has a picture of the driver's side door opened in an outdoor setting, the door looking very nicely there. At the bottom of the ad it shows, from a view from the front and slightly off to the passenger's side, the beautiful car, a Two-Door Turquoise car with a Black top and, between these two pictures are the descriptions of what we are looking at. The ad begins by saying that "There's a lot of America's Finest Luxury Cars in every Comet Caliente". It then claims "and a new 289 V-8 makes it every bit as hot as it looks. You see the Caliente's fine-car elegance in its bold, clean lines and wide, sturdy stance. Inside, you find luxury you'd expect only in the most costly cars, like warm walnut-toned paneling. You can select fine-car options like a 289 cu. in/ V-8, power steering, power brakes. Caliente is a totally new Comet - finest car in its field".

Mercury Comet - Full color 10" x 13" ad for the reliability of the 1964 Mercury Comet. There are two pictures that show the Comet in action. The first picture is at the top showing several cars racing along a raceway. The Comet which has the lead sees three other cars behind it. The other picture shows a Mercury Comet sitting there and the camera has done a nice job if illuminating the front. The text says "You get the solid, road-hugging stance of the world's durability champion...in every '64 Comet". The ad then says "You also get the same engineering skill that made Comet's championship performance at Daytona International Speedway possible.".

Mercury Comet Cyclone - Full color 10" x 13" ad announcing the introduction of the Comet Cyclone. This ad, similar to another Comet ad on this page, shows a Red Comet against a white background with the image of cars racing around a banked track. The text explains that Mercury recently performed a test where several specially-equipped Comets were run around the Daytona track for 100,000 miles at an average of 105 mph. No mention is made as to what repairs had to be made during this time but the text does mention the features you will get in each Comet Cyclone

The top photo shows a car being driven on the high banked turns of a race track and has the headline claiming "Durability Champion! This Comet drove 100,000 miles at over 105 miles per hour!". The other photo gives us a closer look at this car, resting and ready for action. This ad headline calls it the "Sales Champion! This is Comet's Leap Year...sales almost doubled!" . The text gives more details about some of the races and rallys these cars have been in.

The ad headline explains that "We couldn't build Comet much tougher - so we built it more beautiful for '65". The claim is made that this is the world's 100,000 mile durability champion.

Mercury Comet Caliente Convertible - Full color 9 1/2" x 12 1/2" ad has a photo of a Red Convertible against a white background with a young couple standing by it's site. The ad headline claims that you can "Enjoy the great outdoors in this great indoors: Comet Caliente". There is an overhead picture that allows us to see the red interior and the comfortable way the dashboard is set up. The text goes even further by talking about English-pleat vinyl seats, an instrument panel that is all business and honest metal knobs. It offers three muscular engines up to a 390 2-barrel V-8.

A happy couple is shown rejoicing at the news that Mercury is holding a 2nd Million Sale. Pictured in the ad is a Red Caliente 2-Door Hardtop and a White Sports Coupe, each with the same happy couple looking them over. The text mentions that the Sports Coupe is a New, Limited Edition and mentions the special features that it comes with.

Mercury Comet Cyclone GT convertible - Full color 9 1/2" x 12 1/2" ad has a photo of a Red Convertible Mercury Comet with the top down and with markings that identify it as the Official Indianapolis 500 Pace Car parked against a white background. There are a couple lounging on this car as the ad headline explains that "'Indy' 500 discovers Mercury Cyclone GT". The text says that "Indianapolis officials do not select their Pace Car lightly.
