Thunderbird - Full color 9 1/2" x 13" ad that calls attention to the latest version of America's most exciting car: Ford Thunderbird for '56. The ad has a drawing of a field where Thunderbirds come to meet. In the ad we see a Blue Open T-Bird with a couple looking over at a family that has just gotten out of a Black Soft Top while in the background is a Red Hard Top and a Pink Hard Top. The text glosses over the amazing features of these cars, even to the point of talking about "the unique flair of its new spare-tire mounting". It talks about the 225-h.p. Y-8 engine, describes more about the top options and mentions the "added protection of Ford's exclusive Lifeguard design.". There is a drawing at the bottom right of the picture that shows how the location of the spare tire allows you to have more room for luggage in the trunk. |

Ford Thunderbird - Full color 9 3/4" x 13 1/2" ad that introduces the 1958 Ford Thunderbird. This ad is very strong about "Thunderbird" since that is the first word in the ad, the headline, if you will. Drawn into the ad is a Black 1958 Ford Thunderbird that is parked on the dock right next to a sailing boat. There are two people sitting in the back seat of this car and there are two more standing outside of the car looking in. The second headline tells us that the "New Ford Thunderbird seats four - now it's twice the fun to own one!". It then says that "Even the most gregarious man can now be a Thunderbird man. Family? Friends? Take 'em along! Take them in style - Thunderbird style! The new T-Bird has four of the most comfortable, most luxurious fill-sized fine-car seats you can imagine. Plenty of room all around. Head room. Leg room. Shoulder room. And more than 20 cubic feet of luggage room...far more than ever before! Enough to take care of the full luggage requirements of four fortunate people on a cross-country trip. All this comfort, all this room, in a car that's compact as a charm. And in spirit, in power, in performance, this jewel of a car is all Thunderbird, all the way! As always, the new Thunderbird handles deftly and parks easily. It maneuvers and corners like a sports car! Stands to reason - only a Thunderbird is built to provide full fine-car luxury and comfort, yet is uniquely sized to outperform the big, bulky cars. Your Ford Dealer invites you to see and drive this excitingly different car at your earliest opportunity. He'll tell you the most startling news of all; You can own the new 4-passenger Thunderbird for far less that you would pay for other luxury cars!" |

It shows a Red 1961 Ford Thunderbird Convertible with the top down, parked on the beach as the two couples who drove out, tightly, are standing on a slight hill watching the sun setting. The ad headline calls it "Thunderbird Weather" and claims that it "comes with the car. Thunderbird owners live in a special country where skies are brighter, horizons are closer and every road is an invitation". It then says that "It happens this way only in Thunderbird Country. The enchantment starts when you touch the new optimal Swing-Away Steering Wheel - and it moves over to welcome you in. Distance disappears as though by magic, for every Thunderbird comes equipped with the wonder-working new Thunderbird 390 Special V-8. Corners are straighter and roads are flatter than they ever were before. This is Thunderbird - the luxury car that's never forgotten it's sports-car heritage. Automatic transmission, power steering and power brakes are standard - of course. Interiors are Thunderbird comfort and luxury in their purest form. Enginneering throughout is carefully calculated to maintain Thunderbird's reputation for timelessness. As you would expect, year after year the trend-setting Thunderbird has led all other luxury cars in resale value.
