Buick Special - Black and white 8" x 14" newspaper ad from G.A. Bowne, Inc in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The ad shows a pair of hands holding a tape measure up to a picture of this car and measuring the wheelbase as the ad headline encourages you to "Come see a car that's BIGGER than its inches!". The text starts out by claiming that "A sixteen-foot tape won't measure the bumper-to-bumper stretch of a Buick Special and a yardstick gets lost in its backseat headroom space". It goes on to reason that it shines when considered on its size alone but you have to also consider the Power and Steadiness as well. The ad goes on to mention the price range for this car as being from $765 (displayed in large letters) to $1945 (displayed in not-so-large letters).

1956
Buicks - Full color 10" x 14" ad for the 1956 Buicks. There is a picture of a Two-Tone Blue Two-Door Buick being driven along a country road in a hilly part of the country and the headline says "We hear it from thousands: 'Best Ride Yet'". The text talks about this by claiming that "Ever since the 1956 Buicks made their bow some months back, we've been getting the rosiest reports. And it's happening right across the country. The fine comments keep coming in, while Buick sales keep climbing up. Sure, it's to be expected. New car, new compliments. But never before, believe us, anything like this. For this wave of raves about the '56 Buick goes for something beyond the bold, bright sweep-ahead styling that graces and identifies the best Buick yet. It moves on beyond the might of new 322-cubic-inch V8 engines that hit the record book with the highest horsepowers and compression ratios in Buick annuals". This isn't even half the text about this new car and they seem very confident about this car. Throughout the ad they mention only Buick but the car shown in the ad looks to be a Buick Special.

1957
Buick Special - Full color 9 1/2" x 13 1/2" ad that indicates that this car was designed with YOU in mind. There is a picture of a Blue and White Buick Special being driven past a rocky outcropping by a woman with a male passenger and a smaller picture that shows a couple looking inside of a Green Buick Special where the front end is visible to the viewer. The headline states "Buick --- No. 1 on the Zest-seller list" and the text indicates that words are wasted, you need to get to your Buick dealer to sit behind the wheel and take it for a drive to fully appreciate what Buick has built for you. The text talks about the Variable-Pitch Dynaflow transmission and the Ball-Joint Suspension before mentioning that the "'57 Buick Special, is the Number One best-seller in the Buick line". This ad also mentions a feature called the Safety-Minder. With this feature you would set the maximum speed that you wanted to go and a buzzer would sound if you exceeded that speed. It would continue sounding until you reduced your speed to below what you had set.

Buick Special - Black and white 9 1/2" x 13 1/2" ad that announces that Motor Trend has made this year's model the 1962 Car of the Year. There is a picture of a man who is talking to a Newstand vendor who is showing him the Motor Trend issue that has the information about the car that is parked next to them. The text reveals that really the reason that the award was given was more for the fact that the Buick Special was equipped with the only V-6 engine available at that time. The majority of the text is devoted to talking about this engine.
